Dear Jean,

Here are some photos of the canvas work we completed last winter for our Tayana 55.

We were horrified with the quotes we received for replacement canvas for our Sprayhood/Dodger and Bimini, so we decided to try to do it ourselves.

We had virtually no relevant experience, but bought a heavy duty sewing machine via eBay for $120 and ordered Weblon, seamstick and thread from you. First we made the Bimini, and the result was good enough that we decided to tackle the Dodger using Weblon and Strataglass. We were surprised at how well it all came out, and very pleased to find that we had spent about one fifth as much as the quotes we had received.

When we headed for the Caribbean in November we took with us Sunsure, Weblon and foam to make replacement cockpit cushions and various covers, most of which were completed while at anchor in Martinique . Having returned to the USA we ordered Phifertex for the window covers, which we have just fitted.

Thank you very much for all your help, and speedy responses. You have had everything in stock that we have needed, and the materials have lived up to every expectation. Now we have to decide what to make next!
