Project 6

The boat is a 1961 "Sea Skipper" custom built by Chance and Associates out of Waldorf Maryland. My husband and I started this restoration project in 1996, using free weekends. It took us almost as long to strip the boat down to the hull, as it has to restore it. It was a bonding project since we did all the work ourselves. We are at last seeing a light at the end of the tunnel as we do the canvas work and install the galley. Just wanted to share some of the photos of the canvas work we did. I certainly appreciated your sewing tips about using a stapler and the tape. My husband and I were impressed with our handiwork. We used Sunbrella and were pleased with the way it handled. Mr. Walter Chance owned this particular boat and we felt it appropriate that we name her "Last Chance". Mike and Barbara Walter
