Sailmaker's Supply provides professional-quality sailcloth, marine and outdoor fabric, hardware, fasteners, thread, sewing tools, and project supplies for boat owners, DIY customers, sailmakers, and marine canvas professionals.
Owned and operated by Jean Carroll, Sailmaker's Supply combines quality materials with more than 40 years of hands-on sailmaking, sewing, marine canvas, and boating experience. Our goal is to help customers choose the right supplies and complete their projects with confidence.
Meet Jean Carroll
Jean Carroll is a lifelong boater, sailmaker, marine canvas fabricator, and the owner of Sailmaker's Supply. Her experience began with owning a sailboat and learning to sew. She made her own canvas, repaired her own sails, and before long was completing projects for other boaters on the dock.
Jean later set off cruising toward the Caribbean with a sewing machine aboard her boat. Along the way, she gained additional professional experience, including working in the canvas department for a sailmaker in St. Thomas. After returning to the United States, she opened her own sailmaking and marine canvas business.
That firsthand experience continues to shape the products Sailmaker's Supply carries and the practical advice Jean shares with customers today.
How Sailmaker's Supply Began
Sailmaker's Supply grew naturally from Jean's hands-on sailmaking and marine canvas work. While building sails and canvas professionally, she already had many of the materials and tools needed for the work and recognized a gap in the market.
At the time, DIY boaters had very few places to purchase professional-quality sailmaking and marine canvas supplies. The available options were often difficult to find or priced beyond the reach of people who wanted to complete their own projects.
Sailmaker's Supply began by filling that need, first through a printed catalog and later through an online store that makes quality marine materials, hardware, tools, and project supplies more accessible.

Sails or custom marine canvas products that are not available through our store may often be obtained through these relationships.
