I am very pleased with this palm. Very robust! I was concerned about the fit when ordering , since I have large hands. After a couple hour warm soak, wearing it for a while, and a leather conditioner massage, the fit is excellent. Nice!

Sailmaker's Palm - Roping

A very good product produced by Wm Smith and sons. As with all palms of high-quality the item needs to be soaked in water to soften it, and then moulded to one's individual palm as was done historically by all sailmakers. Just one slightly negative comment about this palm. Traditionally, the needle plate of the roping palm has fewer indentations than the seaming palm. This is not so with this generations of offerings from Wm Smith and I am sorry for it. However, still the best palm on the market.

sewing Palms

I purchased both an #11 & #12 Palm. Both are very Heavy Duty. Not for the Hobbyist but more for the frequent user. These require an extended amount of time to "Break-in" and FIT to your hand.
